  1. John Smith says:

    KC for AG.

That man is Virginia’s Ron Paul. It seems like the Ron Paul wing of the Republican Party is slowly taking over. Looks like they’re starting to learn marketing and techniques. That’s a good thing.

  2. CT says:

So true John Smith. Finally, they are learning to play the game. Watch out GOP!

  3. Britt Howard says:

John, I’m a big fan of Cuccinelli. I don’t consider myself a Ron Pauler, but I admire his adherance to the Constitution and fiscal conservatism.

You’re right that the Ron Paul movement is becoming more sophisticated and is learning a few things about marketing. Being a Libertarian, I see a lot of potential there.

However, as you speak of marketing and flexing some Ron Paul muscle, you hurt the movement and marketing efforts by overstating yourselves as “taking over”. Sure, nominating a guy that will protect our freedoms and also bring us back to fical sanity is a good thing, but the job isn’t over.

You and other people in the Ron Paul movement that participated in the RPV and helped out in the Tea Parties have some positive actions to be very proud of. However, as you pat yourslef on the back, remember that you need the rest of the RPV to show up and vote for Cuccinelli in the general election. You also need conservatives that have left the GOP, but are not necessarily Ron Paulers to continue their efforts. You guys were hardly the only ones that nominated Ken Cuccinelli. You need to acknowledge that.

I hear about all the insults you guys sometimes suffer in the RPV. I understand a desire to gloat a little and prove that you matter. That said, nothing will derail all your progress faster than mimicing the exclusionary arrogance you struggle against. We all need to prove to ourselves and everyone else, that we are beyond all that. Otherwise, you’ll succumb to the pitfalls of politics and be just as corrupted if you find success.

I don’t know you, but thanks for all of your hard work. I see the effort and energy. I recognize the potential of you and your fellows in the Ron Paul Movement.

  4. Amit says:

I am Ron Pauler who supports KC but as RP would tell you himself, its not about him and if the movement disappears when he retires then it would have been a failure.

  5. novamiddleman says:

Seriously you guys are too much. Cooch is a social/religious conservative = Government control in personal lives. How in the heck can you be a libertarian and endorse Cooch. It makes absolutely no sense.

Before the flames starts I support the ticket but the logic here is insane

  6. Amit says:

only have a minute here but overall I believe in State’s rights. Cooch led the fight against infractions such as Real ID and believes in property rights. I don’t agree with him on the death penalty and I’m sure on other things but overall I still endorse him

  7. Britt Howard says:

Nova, Real ID, Property Rights, Gun laws are all a part of our personal lives also. No, I don’t agree with him on everything. Yes, he is a social conservative and yes, he has managed to gather support even from us. That’s to be applauded and learned from.

I’m glad you’re still supporting the ticket. Just because you wonder about the appeal to libertarian and Ron Paul types doesn’t mean you’re not supporting your party’s ticket. I didn’t take your criticism as being that.
