Deeds campaign uplifted by latest poll

The Creigh Deeds for Governor campaign is pretty pleased with the results of the most recent ABC/Survey USA poll, which shows Deeds doing the best amongst the three Democrats in a head-to-head match up with Bob McDonnell.

According to the poll, Deeds loses by 5, while McAuliffe loses by 7 and Moran by 12.

“The more people get to know Creigh and hear his message of opportunity, the more voters realize he’s the candidate who can win in November,” wrote Joe Abbey in a message to supporters today. “Terry McAuliffe’s millions have allowed him to take an early lead in the Democratic primary. Taking on the McAuliffe fundraising machine won’t be easy. We’re defying all expectations….”

Unfortunately for Deeds, he and Moran trail McAuliffe in the same poll for the nomination by 16 points, but 64% of Democratic respondents say they are willing to change their minds.

More reaction to this poll from Too Conservative who lauds McDonnell’s lead and says his strength is among independents, and New Dominion, who calls the poll “total crap”.
