Comstock raises $120 K in delegate race
By Brian Kirwin | Monday, April 6th, 2009 | Uncategorized2009 looks to be a super-competitive year in state House races, and $120,000 is a great way to say “Look out, Democrats!”
Barbara Comstock, Republican for Delegate in Virginia House District 34 (Vince Callahan’s old seat), announced contributions from over 300 individuals since it started fundraising in mid-January of this year tipping the 120K mark.
The seat barely turned Dem in 2007 and is ripe for a rebound. Comstock has knocked on 1500 doors so far to deliver her message of protecting Virginia’s business friendly climate and right to work laws. So far, so good!
“As a delegate Barbara will be a forceful advocate for the residents the 34th district. She will work for solutions that create jobs and reward work, saving, and investment and enhance our reputation as one of the best places in the country to work, live, establish a business, and get a quality education. She will hold public officials accountable for how they spend taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars. Barbara has a reputation for delivering results and getting the job done. She will work to find solutions that advance Northern Virginia and ensure our long term prosperity,” said Hishta

H-hey, baby.
Comstock will not be able to beat Vanderhye (sp?) Margie is very popular, well in tune with her district, and has a very productive record in the GA, particularly for a freshman member. If we were serious about defeating Margie, we’d have to choose a less ideological candidate. This makes little sense.
Barbara Comstock is a paid professional fundraiser, just like Sandy Canada. No surprise that she’s been able to raise some money. In fact, had some disparaging remarks about such at a hospitality suite in 2005 RPV covention that I remember.
Isn’t it redundant to say “paid” and “professional”? Tough to be one without the other.
