VPOD 56: Rep. Bob Goodlatte discusses the budget with Virginia bloggers
By JR Hoeft | Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 | PodcastsIn this episode of Virginia Politics On-Demand, Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA06), gives sobering information about the true cost of the Democrats proposed budget and how little Republicans can do about it.
What it boiled down to is that even “Blue Dog” Democrats are likely to go along with the president’s proposals, inflicting massive costs and debt on the American taxpayer, while Republicans can only offer up amendments and attempts and filibuster in the Senate.
In the end, the only thing that the GOP can do is restore confidence in the American people that they are the party of fiscal conservatism through the alternative budgets and amendments that they offer, then hopefully, they be able to whittle into the Democratic majorities in the House in 2010.
Also participating in the call and blogging are Crystal Clear Conservative, Leslie Carbone, and Andrew Clem.
