Frederick NOT resigning; has legal counsel
By JR Hoeft | Monday, March 30th, 2009 | PoliticsAmy Frederick emailed me and was unequivocal: Jeff Frederick will not be resigning, which should quell any rumors to the contrary.
“Jeff will not be resigning on Friday or any day for that matter,” wrote Mrs. Frederick. “Don’t know who you heard that from, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.”
Additionally, Mr. Frederick has hired counsel to help defend him on Saturday.

[...] Today’s rumor: Frederick resigns Friday. (This rumor has been completely discredited.) [...]
Not to be a grammar-nazi, but it is legal “counsel” not “council.”
Can you inform the public of the identity of counsel?
Sorry, RL. I am very tired and sometimes get my homonyms backwards. Thanks for pointing this out.
As far as the name of the counsel, I have asked the question and am awaiting a response to the query.
The counsel is rumored to by a team of lawyers including Bill Stanley, Unit Chairman from Franklin county.
The team has reportedly prepared a press packet for mass release on Friday as a last minute push to keep the chairman in power.
As this is primary an ethical and a political matter and there have been no allegations of criminal behavior, why would J-Fraud need to hire a high-profile criminal defense attorney like Bill Stanley to defend him? Is Jeff hiding something? And is Jeff paying for this or is RPV paying Stanley’s rather hefty retainer?
Allen “A.J” Dudley of Furrow and Dudley, and son of Former House of Delegates member Allen Dudley Sr., has also joined Frederick’s legal team.
What is he – OJ or something????
Give me a break. Now he’s playing the poor victim. How embarrassing (again).
I wish Frederick would just man up and tell everyone how they have been out for his head since day 1. They tried to remove him at the homestead, no one realizes this…they were asking RPV staff about sketchy things to attack Frederick on the day after he won the convention. Yeah Frederick should go, but the people who are forcing him are 100 times worse than Frederick ever was. These people purposefully have split this party for no reason other than they did not want Frederick to be chair. Its one thing to be incompetent because of your own shortcomings, its another to be incompetent because of others.
Back in the day people got promoted because they were hard workers. Today people get promoted by being so incompetent that the people above them cannot do their jobs correctly so they get fired and the person below them gets their job. That is exactly what happened to Frederick. You people should wake up and realize this.
Hmmm………after damage is proven maybe libel/slander suits.
I kinda agree with Max, they never really gave Frederick a chance from the get go. That being said Frederick has not done a very good job as chairman. The main problem is not that this group of fringe incompetents has successfully (almost) pushed Jeff aside they have made the focus of the convention the election and ouster of a chairman, and not BOB MCDONNELL like it should have been.
The news coming out of the convention should be a united GOP and now it wont be no matter what happens on April 4th.
Max,
Where do you get your info… JFred himself… there was no attempt to remove him at the Advance. Were you even at the Advance?
I was Gary Byler’s, 2nd Dist Chair, political director from the time Frederick was elected until February. I read every e-mail addressed to SCC or EC and I heard about the meetings and happenings from my boss who was there.
There was an attempt to remove him at the advance, they did not have the votes so they did not try it.
Ok Max Im Mike Wade’s 3rd Congressional District Communications Director so I would have know about it too… So there… now that we’ve named dropped do you feel better…
Your response shows just how ignorant you are. You asked me a question, I answered it, then you respond with a smart ass comment that shows you know I’m right. Your a joke, just like the rest of the party.
So are you saying you aren’t Republican anymore. and my Smart Ass comment was on the fact that you had to name drop… You could have said well I was there and I have the reciept to prove it… fair enough I would have moved on but no you had to go and tell who your daddy is… so like whatever…
I was not there, I got my information from the person who I worked for. If i said I got it from my boss you would have asked who my boss was. I was saving you the trouble. Your just mad because now you know I have as much or more information than you. It is not a name drop when it is in response to a question. Anyone with logical faculties would have realized that. Only someone who is angry that they were called out would have made a comment such as yours.
I would say that my views are more similar to the republicans than the democrats. I am not a paid member of any party. I run a house of delegates race for a republican and I am friends with many republicans. However, the GOP is so out of touch and idiotic that I quit working for them directly. That being said I love Gary Byler and in my opinion he is one of if not the smartest person in the RPV today. He started in politics doing policy research and writing speeches. I do not believe I have met anyone else who got their start doing things that actually require an outstanding knowledge of history and public policy. Organizing volunteers, making calls, making walk lists, it does not compare to writing policy. You need a brain to write policy, any 12 year old can make a walk list with an excel spreadsheet.
Angry dude… no Im not actually I just enjoy debate. However Gary is a good guy. Haven’t had the opportunity to work with him directly. I really admire what he did for charity this year with the layaway coats. Classy stuff.
Sometimes a snarky remark is just to get a rise out of someone or to throw them off balance which it seemed to do with you. In fact in chastising me you now admit you weren’t at the advance. While I can’t say I read my chairman’s email I was actually there and said attempt never happened.
Seriously anyone here who’s dove into this meaty subject for the last month I would love to have a drink with any of you at the State Convention . At the end of the day we are all Republican’s and after April 4th I look forward to working with ALL of you to kick some Democrat ASS!!!!
I never said I was at the advance you idiot, your just putting words in my mouth to try and salvage your non-existent moral position.
Nothing throws me off balance. Did what you said get me angry? Sure, but no more angry than I am at every second of every day.
There were plans to remove Frederick at the Homestead that were put in motion weeks beforehand. They were going to do it at the SCC meeting, but they did not have the votes and there was a question as to whether the meeting was even valid because of the time the call was sent out (the call was e-mailed at the proper time, but the postmark on the paper copy was a few hours late)
Well you sure talked like you were right there in the meeting. Now I never called you names Max… shame on you is that what this is devolving into… I’m an idiot. No I don’t think so… and to be honest I don’t think you are either… however I know who is one… Jeff Frederick. Why run the party when no one WANTS You… now if thats not idiocy I don’t know what is…
And you are Angry every second of every day. Geez dude thats not healthy perhaps some therapy is in order. Angry at Mom and Dad… kids beat you up in junior high…. one too many swirlies in gym class… perhaps… erectile disfunction
Angry every second of the day. man… That kind of hostility should be reported to the authorities maybe you need to do like JFred and squeeze some midgets and have some cheesecake and lollipops… it calms him down.
Lee wins this battle.
