More racism and sexism in the Democrat Party
By | Wednesday, March 18th, 2009 | Uncategorized

If you only knew what the media tell you, you’d think the Democrats are the party of tolerance and openness and the Republicans had the racists and sexists.

If you look at the campaigns in the actual parties, however, you find the exact opposite.

Last year, it was the Democrat primaries that had pollsters asking everyone about “the race card” and whether voters (Democrats, mind you) would nominate a woman to be President, or for that matter, an African-American. Meanwhile, the Republicans actually did nominate a woman to the ticket, and made Obama’s policies, not race, the issue.

And here in Virginia, a Democrat primary has now sunk to those lows.

Pat Edmonson, running for Lieutenant Governor, has been attacked by emails calling her names.

“Pat has been called names like “slut” and “dyke”, and her husband (who is African American) has been referenced by racial epithets.”

Edmonson Communication Director Connor Morris said “We already know (from emails and posts) that these people are self identified Jody Wagner supporters.”

Let’s see if the mainstream press does its job and reports this, because you KNOW that if it was Republicans hurling the “homophobic and racial epithets,” it would be front page, top of the news, every night for 3 months.

Unbelievable. You’re absolutely right, if this came from any GOP candidate it would be front page WaPo news.

Now having said that, this woman Edmonson is one wacky broad! NLS has posted some crazy videos from her.

How many minorities ran for President as a Republican in 2008? 0

How many minorities serve in the Senate or House as Republicans? 0

Where does the GOP draw its base from? White male southerners.

Does a significant percentage of that base think that Rush is the messiah? Yes.

How much of a chance does the GOP have with minorities and/or women (and/or the majority of Americans) when they permit standard bearers like Rush to lead the party? None. Rush is a symptom of the disease that ills the GOP.

The real question is why is it always the GOP that throws out the race card – even when it doesn’t work anymore? (If only the GOP hadn’t used race to destroy McCain in the SC primary in 1999… sigh). And why do their minions like BK use RNC-beltway approved propaganda to try to spin every story using the race card? And was it really that long ago that an individual – with the support of Rush – who wanted to LEAD the GOP as RNC Chairman sent out a CD with the song “Barack the Magic Negro” on it? (PS – that WAS racist – and it was done by a PARTY leader!)

Fact is until y’all stop throwing the race card around – using race as a weapon – and using racism, and instead stop to figure out why your message only falls upon an ever shrinking minority in the south, you’ll never have a chance at a majority in this nation again.

    Still wearing pink, I see.

Sounds like the Democrats to me. Barack Obama until Hillary was vaquished – not black enough…….now he finally is blacker than Bill Clinton, the first “Black President”

Let’s look at the evil rascist Republicans that never do anything for anybody that isn’t a southern white male.

Hold on as I put on a Lynyrd Skynyrd CD and whistle “Dixie”.

    Colin Powell- not black enough
    Condoleeza Rice- not black enough
    Clarence Thomas- not black enough
Current Chair of the RNC- I guess for you…..not black enough
Thomas Sowell- Not black enough, he’s too appreciated by conservatives
Walter Williams-Almost black…..he’s been accused of being libertarian so, he’s only half as bad as a black Republican

If your Republican and white you’re a racist. If your black and Republican you’re an “Uncle Tom” right? Isn’t that how it goes?
No GOP in congress. That is bad but, from what I hear, there may be a local pigment enhanced individual running for congress next go round.

Head of the NSA, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense until Obama, you Democrats looked bankrupt. What did you have? Oh yea, Espy I think was your top until Obama. Pitiful.

Another ignorant post about Rush leading the GOP. Let me ask you like I ask all the Rush clinic posters, was McCain Rush’s preferred candidate to run for president? No!!!! He emphatically and without apologizing made it clear that many other choices were far better than McCain. Rush took heat for not marching in lock step. Obviously, you’re just regurgitating what the Democrat consultants are telling you to say or you would know this. How does Rush run anything when evidently he has zero impact on the nominee.

Classic case of Dems saying “We don’t see race or gender… we just obsess over it”

Bush had more minorities in his cabinet than ANY OTHER PRESIDENT.

Could the GOP do a better job recruiter minority candidates? Sure, but when they do, Black LIBERALS attack them. hmmmm.

Oh and Rush does not run the party any more than a sports reporter from the WaPo runs the Redskins. Oh crap, Redskins… Racist name… sorry

Ragnar, you know I love you man, and respect your intelligence, I just question your need to keep score over doing what is best… it is always about “gotcha” points, even when you claim it’s not… like both parties do. You can not claim to be above the mentality you practice…we are all guilty of that.

  7. Anonymous Is A Woman March 19, 2009 22:32 pm

You know, you are absolutely right that the letters and the website are reprehensible. But since they are anonymous and nobody knows who is actually behind it, how do we know it really is a Democrat? Just because the person identifies themself as one. If a person is willing to slander somebody, use foul language (and I went to the website – it’s awful), why would you assume they are telling the truth about anything.

Why would you even assume it’s a sane rational person of either party?

Every major Democratic blog has denounced this – and it was a Democratic blog, Vivian’s, that broke it. So, it’s hardly typical of either side.

If you want to see some truly nasty racism – any time you want – and from a “conservative” perspective just go to Foxnews.com and check out any forum where the President is the subject. It is some of the most offensive, racist tripe I ever thought I would see written by an American citizen.

PS – Brian – what’s going on, are you on Facebook? We definitely need to catch up. Meredith is due with our first – a boy – in 10 days! Whom btw my conservative wife and I are pledging to raise in a non-partisan manor – so as to keep both parents and all four grandparents happy. :) How are things going in Ohio?
