Moonbeam Mathieson is starstruck

Citizens are losing jobs, losing homes, losing retirement savings, and looking a grim economy right in the face.

Good thing a Virginia Beach Delegate has the answer to the economy. A “Name the Space Station” contest!

Del. Bobby “Moonbeam” Mathieson emailed his constituents with this vitally important news in these economic times.

News from Delegate Mathieson
Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I thought you’d like the opportunity to help NASA name the next space station module. If you have a few minutes, check out the website. It has some awesome photos. NASA wants your help in naming a new space station module that boasts a room with a
view.”
Participants can submit a name for the Node 3, scheduled to Launch late this year, or choose from NASA’s suggestions: Earthrise, Legacy, Serenity, or Venture. Space.com noted this “is only the second time the agency has solicited outside help in naming a piece of US space station hardware.” The winner “will be announced at the Node 3 unveiling April 28 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center..”

I’ve already cast my vote, but please let NASA know if you have a great suggestion.

Nice to know our Delegate is working hard on the internet entering contests for naming a space station module.

Maybe that was the transportation solution he promised during his campaign.

About the author

Brian Kirwin

The right wants to jeer him. The left wants to censor him. Moderates usually want both. Brian Kirwin is a political consultant and public relations strategist in Virginia Beach with a lightning-rod flair. Brian also serves on the VB Arts & Humanities Commission and frequently appears on Hampton Roads theatrical stages, if only to prove that all actors aren’t liberals. Kirwin’s columns stir up debate and hit the political scene with no punches pulled.

You are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

We knew the Libertarians were space cadets; now the Dems want to join them in orbit.

Lets call it “Virginia Republican Promises”. We know that the promise to “ABOLISH THE CAR TAX” is out there somewhere. Must be in outer space. Or the promise to “keep government small”. Even now, Bob McDonnell is repeating this lie, even though he crafted the wholly illegal and unconstitutional regional taxing authorities, then defended them in court, even though that violated his oath of office. (defend and uphold the constitution for you dimmer folks) And the promise to KEEP TAXES LOW and GOVERNMENT EFFICIENT, ahhhhhhhh, that was the one that got my vote back in the 90′s. Yep, you republican sheep sit her, smug and looking down your noses at anyone who dares challenge or disagree, all the while your state party falls apart, while the national party is in a death spin! Toooooooooooooooo funny! Yep, call that “Space Module” Republican Promises, because that must be where they went!
