Mark Warner protects his automatic pay raises
By Brian Kirwin | Thursday, March 12th, 2009 | UncategorizedSen. Mark Warner loves those automatic pay raises. He voted to kill an amendment yesterday that would have ended the practice of lawmakers giving themselves pay raises in the dark of the night without so much as a vote.
Wasn’t Mark Warner supposed to be a “radical centrist?” Wasn’t he supposed to be pro-business and fiscally conservative? What the heck is fiscally conservative about killing an amendment that would end the practice of automatic Congressional pay raises?
Even better! When are the editorial boards that were so gaga over his centrist talk going to hold his feet to the fire about his 100% allegiance to the left wing of the Democrat party? No one is protecting automatic pay raises for journalists.
Centrist? I haven’t seen a centrist thing about Mark Warner yet.

How stupid are the people that voted for this A$$? No wonder he feels he can lie on the campaign trail. It worked when he ran for Governor and he won.
You have to understand that Warner better than any other politician knows how best to create the subtle dicotomy between the real Warner and Warner the campaigner. Warner and Obama are alot alike in many respects in terms of how they go about presenting their arguements and policies which rather than based on fact or reality are more based on empathy and feeling tugging on peoples heartstrings and playing them the feel good music. Warner mismanaged the State budget about as much as Kaine has, but since the are such likeable State figures the GOP has sought not to want to confront them directly with their fudiciary neglect. In short, Warner gets a pass on every issue no matter how wrong he is because of the personna him and his handlers have created in Virginia. At the federal level Warner has been silent on this entire banking and housing crisis; which is very suspect given his business background and the fact he has always used it as a sword to yield in campaigns here. Its begs the question just why it is the next darling of the Party has been so silent during all of this no doesn’t it. Afterall, votes never ever seem to stick to Warner anyway so maybe he continues to be playing smart politics while he positions himself for 2016.
Like Sen. Warner needs the $$. If this is all you’ve got…?
I just wonder why you and the MSM completely ignored Obama’s decision to freeze the pay of a hundred or so senior White House appointees after 8 years of GOP folks in the same position receiving large pay raises annually under a Republican Administration? Fact is y’all in the GOP are always more interested in rhetoric than you ever are with action. President Obama backed up his words with action, the GOP is still stuck on rhetoric (just see the earmark debate).
Funny THING MARK…..just how many of those positions you refer to have been filled by the Obama team? Enough said.
