Happy Presidents’ Day
By JR Hoeft | Monday, February 16th, 2009 | Catch-AllUnless, of course, you live in Virginia Beach.
In what has to be one of the silliest decisions in recent memory, the school board announced that today would be a work day / school day to make-up for their ill-conceived and premature closing of school a few weeks back for a snowfall that never came.
Admittedly, better safe than sorry, as last year a teacher suffered a terrible accident on the way to work, as Virginia Beach was the only open school district.
But in what has to be the irony of ironies is that this morning, we actually have about a 1/2-inch on the ground.
While Chesapeake is still allowing students to have the day off, Virginia Beach is once again proving that its decision making ability is suspect at best.
