Republicans blow-off “Chairman” Kaine
By JR Hoeft | Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 | PolicyGov. Tim Kaine changed the date of a meeting on short-notice with congressional representatives and then wonderd why Republicans didn’t show up.
A couple Democrats showed, but Rep. J. Randy Forbes (R-VA04), perhaps said it best:
Forbes said he also was mindful that Republicans would be meeting with a governor who, as head of the Democratic National Committee, would want to “get up and walk into the next room and plot your demise.”
“You can be a political governor or a unifying governor, but you can’t be both,” Forbes said.
Minority Whip Eric Cantor is in the Middle East. You can hear his thoughts on his mission on our first episode of “Commonwealth Conservatives.”

Good to know that the GOP isn’t confident enough to walk into a meeting with their own governor to discuss what might be best for Virginia…
