Graham schools Boxer
By JR Hoeft | Friday, February 6th, 2009 | PolicyDid anyone else see Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) act like a complete witch Thursday as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was appealing to cooler heads to do the right thing and approach this monstrosity of an economic bailout bill in an urgent, yet, methodical manner?
Boxer interrupted Graham for a question and proceeded to accuse him of being theatrical when he waved the bill and complained about the lack of scrutiny it was going to receive.
Here’s the exchange:
Yes, change has come to Washington…and it’s bad bills being pushed by bad senators with bad attitudes and no respect.

Doesn’t matter which side of the debate you’re on, that was awesome – it’s almost like – gasp – Senators were on the floor debating and arguing about a bill.
PS – that’s not change – the GOP brought bad bills, bad attitudes and no respect to the Senate years ago, heck Cheney even dropped the F-bomb as he deemed necessary… it’s just nice to see the Dems FINALLY fighting back.
As usual, Mark excuses anything the Democrats with his preschool rant “they started it…nyah”
Hmm, I recall in 2004 when the GOP regained control of Congress, the Dems were calling for shared leadership of Committees etc. They did not want to share leadership when they took over.
Boxer is just as goofy as “500 Million” Nancy.
And, BK excuses anything the GOP does, anything…
Citizen – GOP representation in Congressional committees is higher than their numbers in Congress would warrant b/c when the Dems took over they did want shared bi-partisan leadership in Congress. Dems are the adults in government and on the Hill, and seem to be the only ones serious about making America better.
That’s why they’re fighting so hard to spend a trillion dollars on such job-creation ideas like HIV testing, unemployment checks and welfare.
Mark’s idea of “better” is to saddle future generations with more debt.
He also clearly demonstrates a different opinion because he feels the only way to make America “better” is for the government to “do” something. In this case, it’s spend a trillion dollars on top of $700B.
The American taxpayer is not a well that you can keep going to, Mark. Eventually, you’re going to have to let people work things out for themselves.
Wait a minute. You failed to include his theatrics! Just a moment before he was interrupted, you would have thought Graham was about to cast out demons from a congregation, flailing his arms and everything.
Or casting out tax cheats from Obama’s administration.
Where was the indignation about huge deficits during the Bush Administration? It’s like those terribe years of Bush building the largest defict in our nation’s histroy didn’t happen.
(See Rep. Issa R-California, who fell over himself to explain why losing $12 billion of Iraq reconstruciton funds wasn’t that big a deal in 2007 – then see him the other day going nuts over the possibility we could be spending $2 billion to update our National Parks. Just another crazy Republican – they can’t spend fast enough or grow the government quick enough when they are in power – get em out, and they evolve.
- to my GOP friends, this is why you should never want the GOP to be the majority party again. When they get power they become everything you claim to hate about politicians – out of power they actually represent your votes…)
Mark,
You are full of it. The Dems are the spoiled little kids. They wanted to share leadership of the Committees, which had never been done before. They simply did not want to give up control.
Do any libs pay taxes?
Now, Nancy is saying to hell with bi-partisanship. Two weeks in, and Gal Nancy is already screwing obama. Ha ha ha.
