Obama’s “pay to play” with ABC
By Brian Kirwin | Saturday, January 24th, 2009 | PolicyWhat happens when ABC hosts a “DC Neighborhood Ball” on Inauguration Day?
They coincidentally get the only Inauguration Day interview.
Right out of Illinois “pay to play” politics, Obama gives his only interview to the network that coughed up millions in sponsorship dollars. CBS was the most ticked off, but the New York Times was whining too.
See, Obama is the first President in a long while to blow off the New York Times editorial board during the transition. The NYT normally gets a special meeting.
Guess they just didn’t sponsor an Inaugural Ball. (Virginian-Pilot, Politico)

Brain,
Don’t you think there is a difference between “openness and transparency” and turning every one of Barack’s waking moments into a circus act?
Seems to me Barack can achieve more openness by providing more press briefings then Dubyah did. He does not have to allow the press corp to follow him into the toilet every time he needs to urinate.
Don’t ask me. Ask CBS and the New York Times.
They’re the ones bitching.
To me, it’s funny how these Illinois politicians have $$$=access on the mind.
