Take these jobs and shove it
By Amit Singh | Sunday, January 11th, 2009 | Policy
The Obama Administration is promising to create 4 million jobs using part of the $775 billion economic stimulus. These jobs include “private sector” jobs to perform infrastructure enhancements (not one I would argue with) and “green” jobs. With my back of the envelope calculations, the stimulus could pay for roughly 18 months of 4 million jobs.
Obama refuses to allow the free market decide what are the best jobs to create through tax breaks, credits, and customer demand. Perhaps his refusal is because it would be political suicide for him to abandon big government ideals and promises. So what is going to happen when the bridges are repaired and the roads are repaved? Perhaps the “green” jobs will produce something sustainable but I doubt with govt management we will get too many innovations.
Should we expect 4 million layoffs when the money runs out or another “stimulus” package?

Probably another stimulus package or jobs program. Surely there will be something to rebuild after our infrastructure is repaired.
The question we should all be asking is, “who is going to pay for this?” The government produces nothing. So WeTheTaxedtodeath are going to pay for this one way or another, either by force through direct taxation or through hidden taxes via the Fed’s printing press.
Either way is equally abhorrent to me. Obama would gain great respect from me if he’d admit that he was wrong about Big Government.
I won’t, however be holding my breath.
Green Jobs an ongoing debate pre and post Presidential election of USA. Lets get to know what the experts, green companies and individuals from US and other countries are saying on this, only on http://www.justmeans.com , JustMeans is the only platform for everyone to discuss green, social and environmental issues and educate everyone about the advantages related to these sectors. Many experts, energy environmental and social companies and individuals in these sectors share this site to express their thoughts and debate; they are using this site at large. Even in this recession I am able to find at least 40 to 50 new and quality green jobs on JustMeans site and if we compare with other sites then they have an update of only with 5 to 15 jobs a day. Also I would like to mention that JustMeans is the only site to learn new stuff revolved with “Corporate Social Responsibility” “Green Jobs” “Waste Management” “Energy” “Ethical Consumption” “Politics and Governance” “Social Investment” “Social Media” and “Sustainable Business”.
