Cathy, I am not ragging on the guy at all, hopefully he serves the 81st well. I think it would be a stretch for anyone to say Knight has done more for the community than Keeley or Lanteigne, they are career public servants...I am sure he will still do us well.

Think of McCain and Obama, the people spoke there too, McCain did more for the community, the country, and the world...not to rag on Obama, I wish him the best, but I think it is safe to say McCain has done more as a servant to the public than Obama, and yes, that is not the only thing we should look at in terms of elections, I just wanted to draw a comparison between the 3 R candidates in the 81st...Keeley and Lanteigne have clearly done more for the community, now it is Knight's turn to do the same...

Knight won all three precincts. Evidently, he knows the district boundaries better than anyone. It appears that Lanteigne and Keeley just didn't know or care that the district actually includes 5 precincts in Chesapeake - which Knight won with 329 votes to 17 for Lanteigne and 12 for Keeley. Ouch.

Still the dismissive talk continues - "Knight just doesn't have the community service" - blah, blah, blah. The voters spoke very clearly about which candidate has the experience and positions on the issues that they support. Issues matter, people. Get over it.

Max, you do need to chill out. Keeley got beat pretty badly. For the Republicans it is time to support Knight, for the D's, I don't think they stand a chance at winning in the 81st. Their best chance was for Lanteigne to win as an Independent, but it already looks like he is throwing his support to Knight. Lanteigne has been around VB politics longer than you have been alive Max, he isn't going to run as an I, he knows better. All in all, great turnout Saturday, good for the Repubs, good for democracy. I want to thank Keeley and Lanteigne for their dedicated service to the community, Knight falls well short of them in that category, but I wish him the best of luck in Richmond...after all, he represents the 81st, that includes more of VB than just rural Pungo...

It is Jeff "My Hollywood experience prepared me for the Virginia House of Delegates seat" Dente. Lanteigne has openly stated his support for Barry in the Pilot. Eileen's not-so secret plan is already falling apart.

No need to slow down dissemination of knowledge. Many people have no idea about REAL ID or what it will mean if it is enacted. This is one of those issues the media and government keeps very quiet and for good reason. There are so many important issues out there that people pass over in favor of vanity and personal satisfaction. If someone is not going to be outraged and draw attention to it then we all loose out. If people had bothered to read the TARP bill, saw that it gave the government power to buy ownership shares in banks, and then gotten as outraged as I do about the laundry list of huge injustices I see every day, then maybe we would not be in such dire economic straights. Instead the government lied to us and instead of buying troubled assets they bought preferred stock where they are owed 5% interest for 5 years and 7% after that, payable before any other dividends go out. So Pardon me for forgetting the sources for these two quotes, but...

"I do not care what people think of me, so long that they think"

So Lanteigne is running as an Independent? That is horrible, he supports REAL ID and personally told me he wants monitoring stations to use WIFI to track people by the RFID chip embedded in your drivers license. Not only that, but he wants all of your biometric data carried on your license as well. In his world we should all be using fingerprints for ID, money, etc.. Talk about complete destruction of privacy and personal freedom.

We have a nominee. Dust off, congratulate the winner, and let's win in January. The Democrats may yet hand-pick a nominee in a back room to run, or issue a silent fiat that no one is allowed to run.

Either way, there's an "independent" who was running as a Republican until he decided to be an independent, so it looks like we'll have a race to win.

Max. You fight hard, but I agree it's time to focus on our nominee and make sure Barry Knight is elected. That was a tremendous showing considering the date it was held.

No one told me to attack Knight except my own sense of right and wrong. I voiced my personal opinion on the facts as they exist. I said nothing false and I will not repeat what I have already said. Knight won with over 1,000 votes which makes me extremely happy. I heard last time there was a city wide canvass only 600 people total voted. For Knight to get over 1,300 votes says a lot about his operation and the Republican Party in general. Again, congratulations to him for getting more votes in one district than the last canvass had voters city wide. He ran the best campaign and that is a fact. If you cannot stand behind the facts, no matter what they portray, then you take the word of man as gospel.

My only question now is what Knight's stance on REAL ID is. Anyone who does not want their personal information stored on an RFID chip embedded in their drivers license that can be hacked into whenever there is a WIFI signal present had best ask this crucial question of their elected officials. Vermont and other states have already vowed not to comply. I can only hope Virginia will be next in line.

Gary Byler has some 'splainin to do - He recruits Keeley, gets all of his flunkies to support Keeley, tells his pet Max to attack Knight online and then look what happened...Knight wins by more than 4 to 1 over Keeley. Oops! Oh, and Max, you don't need to give advice to Knight on what to do next. Based on your past performance and your lack of credibility it makes you look foolish.
