Palin Rally & Pics 10/27

On Monday morning, Sarah Palin rolled into Leesburg on the Straight Talk express. We’ve all heard the stump speech - which keeps getting better, by the way, so I thought I’d do something different today.
About 10,000 people attended the rally. Here are thoughts from just a few of them.
Sarah Palin impressed me with her stamina and her sincere friendliness. She was obviously cold, but handled it with aplomb. She actually mentioned the word “Socialism” referring to Obama, which took courage in this politically correct country. Great rally!

And, from a 15 year old:
It was encouraging to be with other McCain/Palin supporters that were excited about our candidates and to be reminded that we are not alone, despite the media’s attempts to tell us we are in the minority.
I gained new respect for McCain and Palin because she saluted the military by having them raise their hands so the crowd could cheer for them. In addition, she took time to look around the crowd and acknowledge them.
Sarah Palin is a real person like us and not like other politicians who are all about themselves. I am thankful that she is not afraid of what everyone else thinks and she’s willing to go after Obama on all the important issues.
Everything Palin said, I agreed with.
It was definitely worth getting up at 5:00 am to do. I wish I was old enough to vote!

Did she mention/ explain her husband’s desire to secede from the USA? Her support of the Independence Party?
Her lack of intellectual curiousity? Her lack of education?
Her repeated ethics violations?
Her abuse of power?
Her inability to answer any tough quesitons?
Seriously, if you actually pay any attention to her, what she has done with her life and what she say, she is an embarasment to anyone in the GOP with a brain and an education.
Well, I’m in the GOP. I have an education and if the ability to deduce existence from thought infers a brain, I suppose I possess that as well.
And, for the record, I’m quite pleased to have Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket (in case I’ve been unclear on that point previously).
We could do he said / she said all night, but after 30+ years in the Senate, your VP candidate fumbled the constitutional role of the vice presidency (and about thirteen other things in their debate).
Considering that she is a governor of a state as well as a mom, I’d say she’s done pretty well with her life. As for tough questions, compare the hardballs she’s gotten from the press to the vapid softballs Obama gets from them.
Yes, as was quite clearly demonstrated by your ignoring the relevant reality of Mark’s questions (as well as that absurd claim of 10k people. Even the campaign itself topped it out well below that.).
Anyway, glad to see you on the Palin in 2012 train. The sooner the modern Republican party is destroyed by idiots, the sooner someone can start rebuilding a party that’s actually got something more than fear, ignorance, and hate to offer.
It’ll be fun if she actually does make a run in 2012, I can’t wait to see her actually go through some media vetting. She might actually have to answer a real question or two about her sketchy past.
Seriously - Other than her being a mom and a sub-par governor - who was just censured by a GOP legislature, what exactly has she accomplished? What intellecutalism or exceptionalism has she demonstrated? It was a GOP political expediancy - and it demonstrated unequivicolly that the GOP and McCain have NOT put the country first.
Say what you will about Biden, he has a big mouth - and he is certainly lacking the poltiical skills of Palin - but he knows foreign policy, he knows the way government works, he has demonstrated intellecual curiousity and he has made hard choices - and lived through hard times. You can trust the country to Biden.
Yeah, maybe she’ll actually have her tubes tied by 2012.
The liberals are alot of fun. They have no probelm with a person and their associations as long as its in their camp but god forbid it be a Republican who enages in such actions. Well then they are a shill for the like the KKK or something, oh wait no that was one of the liberal leaders in the Senate. All is forgiven if its a Democrat.
As to Palin, we are all still getting to know her and while the time has been short it amazes me how liberals have no sense of history at all. Finally, McCain in a Larry King interview alluded to the fact that Bill Clinton had zero national security experience, zero foriegn policy experience, but hey he did command the Ark National Guard. See that was a “qualification” back then but today for Palin it does not qualify. Its like affirmative action; different standards for different Parties. In fact what was Clintons significant experience? Well he attended the “right” schools and knew the “right” people and his wife was pretty cute to but was as quiet then has Palin’s husbamd if you recall. But it was his passport; Clinton was well traveled and Palin have never been really anywhere.
So in the end, why is it liberals have a problem with Palin? Well, she is not an elite. Its as simple as that. Wrong schools, wrong pedigree, wrong associations (NRA) a bit too much “middle class” for the mainstream liberal. In short, Sarah Palin is a bit to “common”. And the fact her family has union ties makes is of no matter because that just makes it even clearer she is “common” or working class and not intellectual enough to lead. Elite Liberals like the union support, but really do not care to much for the those “commoners” that make up the union rosters. Maybe someday those folks will come to realize that; oh wait maybe some of them are alreasy thanks to Palin and thats what the real problem with her is.Umm.
Forget the liberals, - and your own twisted spin - McCain’s own advisors are calling her a crazy power hungry diva. She’s Hillary, only with an R after her name and less experience, knowledge, sense… Heck when Gen. Powell endorsed Obama he alluded to the risk of putting Palin in power.
If you really care about the country, and not about a particular party you’ll vote to keep Palin out of power.
Mark your so off base. I guess those of us independents that Obama is trying to reach to close the deal on this election don’t “really care about this country” if we support the Mccain/Palin ticket. yet it is the GOP who is supposed to so bad, full of haters and racists? I guess you must have to have a short memory and forget what happened to Clinton in the Primary not by the GOP but by Democrats. You know Mark it just goes to sho that you have to be in the tank 100% before you respect peoples views. What about us that supported Webb over Allen, you dismiss us now if we don’t support Obama? What about us who supported Kaine or will support Warner over Gilmore but just will not support Obama. There are thousands of Virginians who are about to do just that. Why? Simple. Warner, Kaine and Webb did not and do not premise their agenda as “spreading the wealth” and both actaully had a record of achievements to base a judgement upon. Its not okay for Palin to be a Mayor/Gov but its was fine for Kaine to be a Mayor/Lt. Gov/Gov and then be an okay VP selection, it was okay for pundits to put up Mark Warners name as a VP option as well for Obama. So lets clean the lenses of judgement and rhetoric. Experience is not the real issue is it, so when you want to step up and inform us just what the real reasons are why it is we should be so fearful of Palin please do so. By the way, again there are many of us old Chuck Robb Democrats here in Virginia that are leaning McCain that is being underestimated because we believe the national platform has moved too too far left. If this were not the case, I would love for you to explain why Warner is up by 25 pts and Obama is up by a high of 9pts and a low of 4Pts in Virginia.
She has no idea what she is doing - and her comments about going to war with Russia to protect Georgia, or with Iran to protect Israel scare the hell out of me as a military reservist. I guess I still believe in America first…
She is unqualified, irratic, uninterested in the world around her, and possibly the most terrifying person anyone has ever considered elevating to high office.
I weep for our nation which once worked to find the best and brightest and now we are burdened with a party that is more interested in what a plumber has to say than the educated. I fear our nation will not survive long with such people in power.
PS, anyone who immediately resorts to the word “liberal” is no independent - so please, stop trying to hide who you are.
