Howard Stern’s Sal goes to Harlem; Blacks totally ignorant of Obama policies

Blacks are voting for Obama because of his positions on the issues, right? Yea, right.

After hearing this clip, you’ll know why majority-minority precincts vote Democrat 90-10. How sad.

although what we heard is pathetic, I am willing to bet if you pulled the same stunt in rural America with whites and asked them if the govt should pay for their healthcare and make the richest 5% of Americans pay more taxes they would say yes even though they are voting for McCain.

Please, J.R., do spell it out for us.

And please follow up with an explanation of this.

I don’t think I need to go into a history lesson regarding what Republicans did during the Great Depression and realignment/the “Southern Strategy” to warrant the 90-10 split. There’s no need for you to get so snide, MB.

I really don’t understand why I have to get the arrows because I express disappointment in ignorant voters.

The example you presented is just as pathetic. Both are sad testimonies on the state of our union.

I didn’t think you’d back your original point up (in fact, I was surprised you made it, which is why I asked you to spell it out). Your original post essentially said - Black people are stupid, and that’s why they vote for Obama. Then, after being asked to spell it out, you retreat into “Oh, it’s what the Republicans did, that’s why black folks vote Democrat.”

You’re not getting arrows because you’re expressing disappointment in ignorant voters. You know exactly why you’re getting them, and that explains the giant gap between your original post and your later response.

    MB,

Jr’s original post didn’t essentially say “Black people are stupid”

    YOU DID!

Choice quoute EJ, i don’t believe i’d heard that exact one before.

Retreat? I see no retreat in my comment.

I see myself calling both groups represented ignorant.

No voter should have blind allegiance.

Times are different from the Depression and Southern Strategy. Black voters should recognize that and see how taken for granted they have been by Democrats.

    MB,

The video you link to is someone finding the most ignarant dumbasses and editing them together.

I know you love the clip, becuase it is from your favorite News Network… Al Jazera… Really, it is.

Incidentally, Al Jazera is making a big push into more western markets from what I understand. They’re even looking at having some reporters at a couple of places in Hampton on election night.

You really don’t see the gap between your original post and your follow up? And let’s just put aside the Republican voters.

  14. MBNo Gravatar on October 19th, 2008 at 11:16 am

Al Jazeera does some decent reporting, Jeremy, and it’s worth checking out. Some have occasionally drawn parallels between them and Fox News, but I don’t watch either enough to know how accurate that is (see, e.g., the excellent documentary Control Room).

    And this:

    is just precious.

MB, when they first launched their english site a few years back, i read it semi-regularly for a few months, initially just to see what kind of articles and focus they would provide. I actually followed the race for the presidency of the Palestinian Authority rather closely in 2005, as I was intrigued by the candidacy of Mustafa Barghouti, and thought him perhaps something of a transformational candidate for the region. As the US media had very little about the race, I followed it mainly on Al Jazeerah and the BBC.

I do admit though that in the last couple years i’ve not used it as much if a news source.

    JR,
To be fair, the next example that was not in the clip you posted was actually a black, McCain supporter who was supporting McCain cos McCain wanted to end the war.

Wow Harlem is NOT the most accurate demographic of black voters to poll. I’m a Obama supporter and unlike most african american sI did not jump on the Obama bus. I actually took time to research his views on the war and pro-life and all though I do not agree with all of his policies I’m voting for him because I am confident that he provides what america needs.

  18. P-Town HubertNo Gravatar on October 29th, 2008 at 7:38 pm

Dwight Floy posted, “I’m voting for (Obama) because I am confident that he provides what america needs”.

Your post can be paraphrased by saying, “Obama talks good”. Any politician will say anything you want to hear to get elected. How can you be confident that Obama will “provide” anything, when he’s never provided anything but talk?

If he wins……welcome to the USSA, the United Socialist States of America, headed by Prez. Obaba, head of the Obamunism movement.

I have a question for all of you who think that blacks only vote for obama because he is black:

Do you think we would vote for rice or powell? Do you think that we would have been so fast to vote for Mr. T or Gary Coleman (I am from California so you guys could probrably guess why I chose this second set)?

It doesnt suprise me that some people answered sterns questions incorrectly. If I was celebrating on election day, which I was, I wouldn’t give a shit about stern asking his political questions. I would just want to shut him up and get back to partying.

I think that if stern wants to prove how politically naive black voters are he needs to do a real survey and show us the ERROR in his findings.

Sorry that us naive blacks have a say in who becomes president. For now, all of you who don’t like blacks should just be happy so many blacks are in prison. With prison policy the way it is you still have a large number of us disenfranchised, and you’re corporations can still use us for cheap labor.

Bottom Line—->Stern would not be able to get away with this type of entertainment if his fan base had higher IQ’s than Bush.
