Jim -

Really? You are still going to crawl into the muck with your guilt by association tactics? Amazing that in this day and age, in America, people are still condemned because of the people they know.

Speaking of which, wasn't Palin palling around with a terrorist when she MARRIED a guy who wanted to seccede from the US? Where is the MSM on THAT issue? Speaking of anti-Americans associated with organizations that aspouse terroristic tactics - and she MARRIED one. So, by your standard she should be run out of town.

Or how about the insanity of a candidate repudiated by her own state's legislature unanimously - even though her party controls the legislature?

But, as always their lose morals the Republicans are only interested in finding the speck in the Dem's eye, while ignoring the hockey stick in their own.

Leave it to Democrats to protect a state trooper who should've gotten his badge taken away years ago while ignoring Obama's BUSINESS relationship to the tune of 50 million dollars with a guy who bombed the Capitol

Jim, I encourage you to read something about this other than the McCain campaign's press release. Brachflower's report cites multiple instances in which Palin abused her authority in violation of Alaska law. Monegan's firing was just one part of the inquiry. You want to find fault, find it with the special investigators report. From the report itself, page 8:

For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.

I have to admit, i'm surprised by your take on this. I'd have expected you to attack the impartiality of the report, not to deny its contents.

Mark,
I didn't accuse him. I said "if not". But if you don't think associating with terrorists and communists is treasonous, hey, let freedom ring.

Jeremy,
Then WSJ is over-reaching too. This is pretty black and white. If the decision was that she was within her "constitutional authority", then there's really nothing more to be said.

Seriously, this is like saying someone almost broke the law and claiming it's scandalous.

You either did or you didn't. If you didn't you're innocent and life goes one.

As the excesses of both the American corporations and the abuses of power by our current government have demonstrated, "America First" has no meaning.

It's every man for himself.

Jim - guilt by association, eh? Please tell me how any of those associations are treasonous???? That is one h*ll of a thing to accuse another American of, you better have some proof - I guess this is just more dishonorable McCain/ Palin scare tactics. Did you know that Mayor Daly ASKED Obama to serve on that education board? It's a City chartered board! Or, that Ayers was Chicago's "Citizen of the Year" in 1997?

Honestly, I can not believe you went down that partisan and destructive road.

I think you, and many of the other folks who are making such accusations on the right need to be extremely careful lest your words manifest themselves into actions by some truly anti-American by others on the right. Some of the words exclaimed at McCain rallies should be embarassing - AND concerning for the future of our land. How about putting "America First"?

I have a question. If Ayers is such a danerous terrorist why hasn't he been arrested, charged, convicted and sentenced to Gitmo with all the other terrorist?

Yeah, me and the Wall Street Journal, we're such liberal spinmeisters.

Alaska Probe Says Palin Abused Her Authority

A long-awaited Alaska legislative report concluded that Republican Sen. John McCain's vice-presidential running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, abused her authority and broke state ethics law by trying to remove her former brother-in-law from his job as a state trooper.

But the report also concluded that the Republican governor did not unlawfully fire her public-safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, who said he had been pressured to oust the trooper, Mike Wooten. The report said other factors were involved in Mr. Monegan's controversial dismissal.

Now, where does what i said differ from the above?

Indeed, Jeremy. She was within her constitutional authority.

Now that that's been demonstrated, it will be interesting to see how Obama's associations with Rezko, Ayers, Raines, the New Party, et al. will play out.

Especially if some of these associations are criminal, if not treasonous, in nature.

Finally, how can it be an "abuse of power" if it's "within her constitutional authority"?

It would appear to me the only person abusing anything is you with the truth by spreading Obama talking points.
