The Flyers hockey season will begin in Philadelphia with America’s favorite hockey mom dropping the first puck. Flyers owner and McCain supporter Ed Snider proudly announced the news.

“Because of the tremendous amount of publicity she has brought to our sport, we invited the most popular hockey mom in North America to our home opener to help us get our season started,” said Snider (FOX)

Palin will be joined on the ice by the winner of the Flyer’s Ultimate Hockey Mom contest, where all participants received “puck-er peach” lipstick.

And we thought the American economy was going down the drain.

Pure capitalism at work. You got to love it.

Palin shouldn’t associate herself with an evil organization like the Philadelphia Flyers.

    GO BLUE JACKETS!

[...] tend to err on the side of anti-Palin.  And pro-boo bird.  Although one Blue Jackets fan points out that the Flyers evil qualities may actually sully the Alaska governor.  To that I have but one reply - we may have sold our souls [...]

Regardless of your political affiliations, Sarah Palin has shown her ability to be a rabble rouser and should not have been invited by Mr. Snyder to a Flyers game. If he wants to express his approval, let him take out an ad.

Hey if you’re going to rouse a rabble, a hockey game is the perfect place!

This is totally wrong to put politics with Hockey. I go to the FLyers to get away from the crap going on. I would not have a problem with this if it wasafter the debate but pennsylvania is a battleground state and this is wrong. I bet Biden knows more about our philly team then palin does. I’m boycotting the games this year, but I will always be a fan! Go Flyers! Not Palin

I have been an avid Flyers fan for over 50 years but this is crazy. Could this not have waited until after the election when she can really be a “Hockey Mom”. My daughter and I gave up our season tickets this year and I am certainly glad we did, would be very upset to pay big bucks to watch her. Probably won;t be able to bring myself to watch the game on TV either, Thanks Mr. Snyder for ruining the home opener for your fans.

How about we let her take the ice after she answers some questions? I keep wondering, WHO is Sarah Palin? Other than someone who abuses state authority and power?

Mark, she’s someone that apparently makes the “bipartisan left” scream with fear and venomous attacks.

I’ve read she was boo-ed when she came out. I do hear a deepening in the tone of the crowd, but i can’t say i definitely hear booing. I do note a couple folks in the background with Obama/Biden signs though.

Jeremy, learn not to trust what you read in the media.

    We have.

Give up season tickets over a ceremonial dropping of a hockey puck? Geez…no wonder the Red Wings always kick the Flyers’ butt. What a bunch of cry-baby sissies.

“Boo-hoo! I’m gonna take my puck and go home!”

Way to stand behind your team, ya clowns.

Of course, Philly fans have never been noted for their, er, intelligence.

    GO WINGS!
