Virginian-Pilot makes the case for Term Limits
By | Sunday, October 5th, 2008 | Policy

Kudos to rookie Sen. Ralph Northam, who did what Sen. Yvonne Miller couldn’t, wouldn’t and hasn’t done.

Her job!

Looks like judges will be appointed, since even Democrats tired of Miller’s obstructionist ways which put her politics ahead of the good of the people. The Virginian-Pilot rightfully applauded Northam and scorned Miller.

Yvonne Miller, in the Senate since 1988 (her website says “for the last 18 years”, so she’s horrible at either math or updating her website) is in a very safe Democrat district, so she’s around to stay, unless the Democrats challenge her in a primary or we enact term limits.

The Pilot’s editorial laid the groundwork for both.

About the author

Brian Kirwin

The right wants to jeer him. The left wants to censor him. Moderates usually want both. Brian Kirwin is a political consultant and public relations strategist in Virginia Beach with a lightning-rod flair. Brian also serves on the VB Arts & Humanities Commission and frequently appears on Hampton Roads theatrical stages, if only to prove that all actors aren’t liberals. Kirwin’s columns stir up debate and hit the political scene with no punches pulled.
