Having just come back from Iraq, I can tell you from first hand experience that we spent way too much money on "contractors'.

While some of the services being provided by contractors do help the troops on the ground, a larger percentage of those SOBs should be arrested for ripping off the American tax payer and have made the mission of securing Iraq all that much harder.

Every where I went in Iraq I heard the same story, multi million dollar contracts for projects that were never completed, or was of such shoddy construction that the facilities had to be torn down.

If you're interested, I can give you a number of examples of waste, fraud and abuse on the part of contractors that I saw with my own eyes.

Hey, Ian. The jobs that Obama will end up cutting are positions that actually produce something for the economy. All Obama is going to do is take that money and waste it on hand-out social programs that won't produce squat except a new welfare system. And we all know how good the old welfare system was, don't we?

You forgot (or deliberately neglected) to mention that in your commentary.

I see, so when a democratic candidate falls in line with the right-winged mantra of "cut spending" it is a bad thing? Or is it the hypocrisy that when you cut money you cut jobs...as long as it is not related to you? You can't have it both ways.
