The article, “A mighty wind blows through Republican convention,” reportedly said Palin was chosen to appease the party’s “rural,” “unlettered,” “white trash” base and said that the vice-presidential nominee looked like a “porn actress.”
News flash! Sarah Palin wore a bathing suit when she was 20. The left is attacking her for that.
The Chicago Sun Times, Obama’s hometown newspaper, launched this Watergate-level scandal. When Palin was Mayor, a local spa gave her a free facial. They had the nerve to call it an “ethical red flag.” Oh, and a local business sent her flowers once. CALL THE FBI!!
And Saturday Night Live followed up what was a truly funny Palin bit with one that was downright mean this weekend that repeatedly portrayed Palin as a religious whacko, a racist, an idiot who was surprised the UN was made up of people from other countries and wants to use lifelines in an interview.
Lefties, it’s gettin’ real old.
The right wants to jeer him. The left wants to censor him. Moderates usually want both. Funny, I don’t remember people saying “Oh those right wingers have gone too far with their ridicule of Obama’s connection to Rev. Wright”. As I remember that firestorm embroiled Obama over comments that he didn’t even make.
So what’s wrong with taking someone to task for comments they actually made?
And the right has been so nice to Obama….Didn’t you know he was really born in a Muslim country….the birth certificate from Hawaii is a photo shopped fake??? And Obama is going to make us all pay black people remuneration for slavery, including the hundreds of thousands of blacks who are descended from both slaves and slave holders (who will have to pay themselves presumably)? And he went to school in a radical Muslim school???
The false rumors about Palin AND Obama are mean, I’ll give you that, but if people didn’t expect her to be scrutinized, lampooned and criticized when she entered the public arena they are incredibly naive (justifiably or not….the public can decide what is or isn’t funny) . The right wing has made merciless fun of Hillary Clinton and I didn’t hear anyone from a conservative blog saying it was out of line. A presidential campaign isn’t a Teddy Bears’ picnic.
I expect the left to be jerks. I just won’t silently accept it.
