He was smiling…That’s right. You know, that, that Luke smile of his. He had it on his face right to the very end. Hell, if they didn’t know it ‘fore, they could tell right then that they weren’t a-gonna beat him. That old Luke smile. Old Luke, he was some boy. Cool Hand Luke. Hell, he’s a natural-born world-shaker.

Awesome quote Dragline! A very fitting epitaph. I went for the low-hanging fruit :)

This is terrible. I am crushed. I am devestated… Oh wait, his salad dressing will go on?

    Well, never mind, I’m cool

Yup, his salad dressing will go on.

What started off as a gift to a neighbor, (a bottle of homemade salad dressing) has turned in to $25M in charity donations and the creation of the Hole in the Wall Children’s Camp.

He was a Man who used his fame and wealth to help others and he will be sorely missed.

Paul Newman turned down “Dirty Harry” for political reasons (why a liberal actor can’t play a conservative role I’ll never understand…it’s acting).

Just think. Where would Clint Eastwood be if Newman took the .44 Magnum?

Actually, Alan Alda was awesome as Republican presidential candidate Arnold Vinnick on the last season of the West Wing. Not a social conservative, but definitely a fiscal one. That’s the first that comes to mind, i’m sure there are many others.

Actually, when Lefties play Republicans, they’re usually overplayed caricatures (Richard Dreyfuss)

it’s hard not to admire Paul Newman for putting his money to work in such productive ways, such as his Newman’s Own line–high quality stuff and the proceeds go to good causes… very smart.
