Offshore Drilling Ban Set To Continue
By Jason Kenney | Thursday, September 25th, 2008 | PolicyOn Tuesday word came out that House Democrats were set to let the legisative ban on offshore drilling expire at the end of the month. Today it seems the Senate is going to keep it around, sneaking it into the Homeland Security appropriations:
SEC. 1602. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, including section 152 of division A of H.R. 2638 (110th Congress), the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2009, the terms and conditions contained in section 433 of division F of Public Law 110–161 shall remain in effect for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2009.
With all the focus on a bailout, this one might just slip in under the radar.

They need to make some sort of law about not being able to tack on riders unless it has to do with the bill being passed.
Damn. And I was totally holding off on filing my car up. Stupid Democrats.
