While a college education should never be the only indicator of a person’s abilities, such as the ability to think critically, process complex information, etc., it certainly should be considered when attempting to understand what a person brings to any organization, public, private, political, whatever.

I love how whenever a “liberal” mentions higher education being a part of the qualifications for a candidate, the whole foundation of higher learning becomes a liberal mess to not worth considering to conservatives; but when a liberal actually asserts that the base of those with higher education is liberal, conservatives complain that their not being recognized for their education.

…whatever.

Re: Nye bring out of touch with the 2nd District

Hmm…I swear I remember reading about and seeing pictures of Nye in a flak jacket along side our troops overseas. I dunno, I would think that being in those types of situations would make Nye more in touch with the military in Hampton Roads.

What it sounds like to me is that Candidate Nye is stating that he is not living in the residence, but still gains some financial benefit from the tax deduction that his brother is entitled to.

If that’s the case, was he falsely making a tax deduction the past few years?

Also, how come Nye was not capable of answering his residency question at noon today, yet it took him until late tonight to record something?

Also, is he claiming a homestead exemption in a location that’s not Virginia? Which is fine, but it means he doesn’t live in Virginia. In which case, he should not be running for congress.

Or, is he falsely claiming the exemption while living in Virginia? Which means that he is, as someone wanting to become a law maker and decision maker of taxes, is falsifying his own filing.

Either way, this is not good for candidate Nye.

My residence is in Columbus, but gee, I was born in and lived in Texas for awhile… Can I run for Congress there?

Seriously, did the Dems vet this guy? I mean did they even ask to look at his tax records for the past couple of years? Seriously, someone in the Dems should feel real stupid right now…

Looks to me like he ducked some taxes and established residency in two different cities to take tax advantages.

Reid, I’m no lawyer, but I don’t know how you can run for office in Virginia if you claim residency in another state.

Well, chew on this… A huge majority of Hampton Roads is made up of Military folks. Most military people did not complete college.

So when you list the lack of a college degree as a minus, are you trashing those who serve who do not have a degree as well?

Then, are you slmaming the vast majority of the UAW membership who do not have degrees?
