I have become a huge fan of the ONE program (www.one.org)

It works with a lot of organizations to fight hunger and Aids. It is one of the ONLY orgs I have seen of this size that actually has brought people of all political and cultural perspectives together.

Symbolically led by U2's Bono, he has reached out to President Bush, worked with Laura Bush to fight malaria, Hollywood types like Matt Damon and even have a new commercial that features the voices of Michelle Obama and Cindy McCain (who recently returned from yet another trip over seas with One.org)

Why do I say this? To take anything away from International Medical Corps? Heck no. I am pleased to say that International Medical Corps is a partner with ONE.org ! (http://www.one.org/partners/)

So are they legit? You bet. They are part of a cause and a movement that I believe in. ONE that welcomes everyone because they are more interested in helping than they are about scoring political or personal points.

I give to ONE.org and I encourage everyONE else to do so as well. If not, then give directly to International Medical Corps.

I donate to a lot of causes. Not much mind you, but what I can afford. Maybe it is buying something from the local school boosters, or dropping some money in a Firefighter’s boot or something to ONE.org and the Red Cross (they REALLY need the help right now). But in my mind it is simple. While I donate to political campaigns, I think it is important to donate more to charities.

So I will challenge all of Political Junkies out there: Whatever you have donated to campaigns, donate double of that to a charity or church you believe in. For me, it is ONE.org.

Check out Sen. Frist, Cindy McCain and Laura Bush at a ONE.org event at the RNC
http://one.org/rnc/

Ok, I will step off of my soap box now. I am jusyt excited that Jim pointed out a great group that is working with ONE.org
