Report from the Ground (Sign) War
By | Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 | Politics

Just a quick report from the sign wars… heard from friends in Richmond – they have had SIX yard signs (for McCain) stolen from their yard. That’s right, six times someone has stolen a McCain sign from their yard, which is on a busy street in the city. They will be putting up a new sign.

About the author

Jane Dudley

Jane Dudley has enjoyed conservatism and photography for over 30 years. After looking around at the mediocre state of affairs of political photography as it exists on the right, she decided to start making better images, to document Virginia Republicans and to inspire them to make more of an effort to put a fine face on their fine ideas. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and works in new media.

Twice signs have been taken out of our yard in the Richmond area as well. Its not juveniles either given the Obama signs remain intact.

By the way, Alter of Freedom blog has nailed down one line of attack against Obama here in Virginia that no one on the left wants to talk about; defense spending cuts. The liberals are in denial if they think that Obama will not be cutting spending dramatically and in doing so hurting the Virginia economy.

Call me skeptical, but i rather doubt we’ll see any major defense spending cuts while we’re in the middle of 2 wars and not currently meeting recruitment goals.

Of course, spending on Iraq will likely go down as troops are pulled out.

I would however expect to see increased spending in areas like the The Virginia Modeling Analysis and Simulation Center in Suffolk. More focus on the development of “personal” and command technology than on manned vehicle type systems.

For “J.Scott” …… an idea to try……put your McCain/Palin signs back out and then put a BIG sign out that says……”The police are watching you!” Works every time! : )

    McCain/Palin 2008!
