Democrats Golden Rule: (S)he who controls the gold, makes the rules
By | Saturday, September 13th, 2008 | Catch-All

Although I am admittedly biased, but I think we can all agree that Ohio is crucial for both McCain and Obama in order to win. With this in mind, there are increasing concerns of shady behavior in the Buckeye state, and sadly lacking in subtlety.

Who said,

“Well, I tell you what, it helps in Ohio that we’ve got Democrats in charge of the [voting] machines”

That would be Barack Obama. That was his arrogant response to a woman asking in New Philadelphia how he could reassure her that “this election will not be rigged or stolen?” (Source)

The Columbus Dispatch also reports

Ohio Republican Party Chairman Robert Bennett issued a statement saying Obama’s comment “basically amounted to an endorsement of vote-rigging.”

“That may be how you win elections back in Chicago, but Ohioans tend to frown upon the idea of massive voter fraud, especially when it’s floated by a presidential candidate,” Bennett said. “Jennifer Brunner’s meddling with Ohio’s elections system and her firing of elections officials for political reasons has been disturbing enough, but it now seems the Obama-Brunner team are openly wearing the same partisan jersey. Ohioans will not stand for this blatant disregard for the integrity of our elections system.”

It is important to understand that Ohio’s Secretary of Democrat Jenny Brunner is one of the most liberal, biased and dangerous Democrats in Ohio. She makes Gov. Strickland look moderate and non-political.

My prediction is that Ohio and it’s questionable vote counting will eclipse Florida in 2000.

UPDATE: As an example, Rolling Stone Magazine (about as liberals as they come. The publisher is a BIG Obama donor and also publishes US Weekly… ‘nuff said) has even called Brunner out for her “Shenanigans”

In regards to Brunners blockage of absentee ballot request forms printed by the McCain camp Rolling Stone said:

“This is plainly partisan, legalistic voter-disenfranchising bullshit and Jennifer Brunner — a onetime recipient of a Profile in Courage award for her whistleblowing against insecure electronic voting systems — ought to be ashamed of herself.”

    Unconscionable. Arrogant.

And we need to do more to safeguard the integrity of our elections here in Virginia too. We could start by cleaning cross-referencing the voter database against death certificates annually. Then we could up the penalties for voter fraud or conspiracy to commit voter fraud.

A few years ago, a Hispanic friend of mine was approached after she voted and asked if she would like to vote again at another precinct. She reported the incident but to my knowledge there was no investigation. One wonders just how many times things like that happen.

Brian, glad you’re prefixing your name in now. It never felt right calling you Squeaky :) .

Are folks so forgetful of recent history? As the article says, it was a plain referrence to the controversy over Blackwell’s tenure as SecState in Ohio during the 2004 elections and the resulting lawsuits end election irregularities. It was a potshot at the Reps and a sop to the base, nothing more.

He even goes on to qualify it and say that Dem’s don’t exactly have a lily white reputation with elections in his home turf of Chicago. If Obama is as leftist as the right keeps saying, you should have plenty of things to get indignant at without manufacturing outrage over stupid stuff like this.
