Latest Rasmussen poll in Virginia has McCain up 2 points

Rasmussen released Monday that Sen. John McCain now has a two-point lead in the polls over Sen. Barack Obama in Virginia. However, the polling company does not see the four-point swing from last month as significant:

That’s little changed from a month ago. The candidates have not been separated by more than three percentage points since March.

Of course, this is the same poll that says 52% of Virginians are giving Gov. Tim Kaine “excellent ratings”.

    J.R.

That’s 52% saying is Kaine is “good or excellent,” not quite the same thing.

Still, I think it’s a bit high. Rasmussen may have his partisan calibrator too Dem heavy for VA.

Obama has built a substantial grassroots organization here and spent a relatively considerable amount of time campaigning in the Commonwealth. After securing the Democratic nomination in early June, Obama held his first two rallies in Virginia; he spent two days here just before the Democratic convention in late August, in economically-struggling South Side and outside Richmond; and on Tuesday and Wednesday, Obama held events in the southwestern corner of the state and in Norfolk.

    Whatever.

This reminds me of the line in “Major League” where two geeks were arguing about the trajectory of a home run.

“Who gives a shit, it’s gone”

    I agree with you completely…52%…”too high” :-)

    Larry…
    What’s your point?

That despite that effort, Obama is still trailing? :-)
