Is Sarah Palin ready for the 3 a.m. phone call?
By | Friday, August 29th, 2008 | Politics

Hillary ran an ad against Obama regarding the 3 a.m. phone call. McCain also had his own 3 a.m. ad.

So, what does Sarah Palin do at 3 a.m.?

According to Wikipedia:

“Sarah and her father would sometimes wake at 3 a.m. to hunt moose before school, and the family regularly ran 5 km and 10 km races.[4]

Hey, Bullwinkle, DUCK! (Maybe she really is the next Cheney?!)

Cheney’s aim was as crooked as his politics. From what I’ve read so far about Palin, she’s a straight shooter that hits the target whether it’s a moose or a good ole boy.

For Heaven’s sake! She’s the mother of five, the youngest of which is an infant. Of course she can handle herself at 3:00 AM. As for experience, I never was convinced being Governor of Arkansas prepared one for a 3:00 AM call, but that passed muster. Governor Palin is and will continue to be a breath of fresh air to this campaign. I’m elated McCain chose her rather than some old white guy and Washington insider like his opponent. THIS IS REAL CHANGE AND I BELIEVE IT!

It’s funny. The Democrats are attacking Palin, and every Hillary voter on the fence is saying “that’s just what they did to Hillary.”

Wishful thinking Brian. To kick in my own purely anecdotal and statistically insignificant evidence, two “on the fence” Hillary women i talked to today actually felt insulted by McCain’s choice.

Of course, maybe they weren’t as undecided as they professed and just needed to vent before returning to the Dem fold. But both said they felt McCain actually thought he’d get their vote just for putting a woman on the ticket. They’d have felt just as insulted if Obama had picked another woman for his veep. For them it was about Hillary, not about “some woman.”

    Jeremy,
    I agree with you.

I like the pick because Palin is outside the DC spectrum, articulate, a chief executive, a reformer, a conservative, and a fresh face.

Her gender, while adding to the fact that this will indeed be a historic election no matter who is elected, doesn’t make me support her more.

I support her based on her credentials…and I think that’s the main reason McCain chose her too.

What she did by burying the “bridge to nowhere”, speaking out against earmarks, taking on “big oil”, improving our energy independence, etc. Speaks volumes to me about her judgement and capabilities.

I have always, and will always, vote on qualification, not superficiality. And I think McCain is the same way.
