Obama picks Biden; Kaine is a lame-duck
By | Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 | Politics

Gov. Tim Kaine has lost the Veep-stakes to Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE), a former presidential candidate reports the Washington Post. The formal announcment is expected this morning

While Biden is expected to give the Obama campaign some much-needed foreign relations experience, Biden still has baggage.

“Long rumored as a candidate for national office, Biden launched a presidential bid in 1987 that was gaining traction until a video was leaked to the press that showed striking similarities between a speech by Biden and an address by British Labour Party politician Neil Kinnock. Biden sought to beat back the controversy but subsequent allegations about plagiarism and resume inflation in law school forced him from the contest.”

Biden also insulted Indian-Americans earlier this campaign with his comments during the campaign:

“I’ve had a great relationship. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking,” Biden said.

Kaine, on the other hand, will have to return to the governor’s mansion with no transportation solution under his watch, no significant legislative achievements, and a reputation of having been more concerned about a national campaign than being the governor.

Let’s not forget Biden disclosing a classified planned guerilla war in Suriname by the Reagan Administration because he disagreed with it.

Turned on my cell phone and had the Obama text message:

    It’s Biden.

Obama ditched Hillary, who won so many primaries and won almost 1900 delegates, to pick someone who won absolutely none and was so bad a vote-getter he never made it passed Iowa in two Presidential runs?

    Are Hillary voters cheering?

Brian, not only have the voters found Biden wanting as Presidential material on two occasions, but the fact that he still looks MORE presidential than Obama only exacerbates Obama’s biggest weakness.

McCain voters should be the ones cheering.

So Obama got himself an attack dog, this should get interesting. After all, you don’t pick a guy who can teach BK a thing or two about mockery if you’re aiming for a civil campaign. Now if McCain picks Jindal, that could make for an amusing veep debate.
