Paris Hilton and Offshore Drilling

It seems that Paris Hilton and offshore drilling are the two hot topics this week on the presidential campaign. Am I the only one who sees a sick and twisted irony in this?

Paris is one of those people you watch through your fingers because you know there’s going to be a train wreck coming. If only it were contagious…
She’s the perfect metaphor for the energy debate: She has been drilled both here and offshore.
Another irony is that although many Hollywood lefties have in fact drilled, and are privatly in favor of it, they do not admit it… Oh and they have opinions about oil too.
This may be a sticky irony indeed! Someone may get tarred here. This may lead to crude, or at least unrefined, humor. See? You have become a catalyst for cracking these kinds of jokes. I can only hope that all will be well for everyone involved. The fiery passion involved in these issues can only mean that Paris will be burning.
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Stand back boys … we got a gusher on our hands!!!
I just ran across this interesting article “Drill Here, Drill Now,” that delivered a number of interesting points about offshore drilling. One interesting fact is that 620,500 barrels of oil ooze organically from North America’s ocean floors each year, compared to the average 6,555 barrels that oil companies have spilled annually since 1998. It’s an interesting article and i suggest you read it.
