It's about America. I have just become a symbol... </blockquote> Thats a bit more ambiguous, and (like much of what obama says) has multiple interpretations. Still, he needs to be more careful. His years as a professor have produced a didactic bend to his speech patterns that only plays into this. This is a meme that has been circulating for a while, and it seems to have legs. Of course, its actually a strong line of attack, as not only does it use the Rovian "attack strengths as weakness" (turn Obama's ability to inspire to hubris), it starts with a kernel of truth. Politics and arrogance almost always go hand in hand, and they play into other more attractive traits like conviction and steadfastness.
