NLS, VB Dems….BLOCKED!

I have a friend who is currently traveling in China and tried to access several Virginia blogs from there. Of note, NLS and VBDems are blocked by the Chinese, but apparently BD goes through just fine.

On the contrary, the Virginian-Pilot firewall completely blocks BD, but all the others seem to be o.k.

I’m not sure what all of this means, if anything, but I’m sure one of you will tell me.

I wonder if the Internet goes through some sort of web filter where they only open up sites that the government approves of…

It used to be that every blog hosted on WordPress, TypePad and BlogSpot were blocked, just a blanket ban with the broad brush to cover as many blogs as possible. Not sure if that’s still the case, tho.

Wait, The Virginian Pilot blocks BD? It blocks a site that it wrote a story about? Hmmmm. Par for the course over at the VP.

As for Vivian’s site, it should never be blocked. I still read it regularly… as for VB Dems, I honestly have not read it in months. I should check it out.
