Dr. Phil McCain:
His gastax holiday pandering plan would be both an economic stimulus (”The effect will be an immediate economic stimulus”) and it would also have JUST a psychological affect (”it’s not a huge amount of money… A little psychological boost”)
McCain claims that the offshore drilling plan (that he WAS against when he wasnt running for pres) would help lower oil prices, but later stated that the bennies would be mostly “psychological”.
His campaign director and economics goto whiz Phil Gramm (cuz McCain by his own admission wasnt versed issues economical) called the country a “nation of whiners” suffering only “mental recessions”.
Perhaps limiting his belicose saber rattling with Iran and ending his BombBombIran jokes directed at a country that would attempt to close the Hormuz would help lower oil prices too.
I agree with the need to stop saber rattling (it can’t really be called saber rattling though because they’re pretty serious about starting another war), but there is a need to drill. I can’t buy gas with my mind. Heck, we need to do everything we can to bring down the energy costs, including stopping overspending in congress.
