Jody Wagner for LG
By | Friday, July 18th, 2008 | Politics

Anita Kumar of the WaPo’s “Virginia Politics” blogs yesterday that Virginia’s Secretary of Finance, and Virginia Beach resident, Jody Wagner, will resign later this month to begin her campaign for the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor.

Wagner, who was the Democrats last real chance in the 2nd congressional district when she opposed former Rep. Ed Schrock (R) for the then open seat to replace former Rep. Owen Pickett (D), will challenge John Bowerbank, who got a clear head-start at the state Democratic convention.

Lt. Gov. Bill Bollling, a Republican, is seeking re-election and has already amassed over $660K for his campaign.

She is going to get creamed by Bolling. Seriously, she was too afraid of losing again for the 2nd CD seat, so she decided not to challenege Rep. Drake. Now she wants to challenge Bolling? Come on.

Someone is hoping for some Marker Warner coattails.

Ah… come on in. The water’s fine, Jody.

Let’s let she and Bowerbank battle it out while Bolling and McDonnell continue to work together to actually solve some of the problems Virginia families face.

If she can only keep her arrogant husband in the closet for the next 16 months….

I can’t wait for the nutroots to start skewering her since they are all in the bank (some literally) with Bowerbank

Jody Wagner would have a tough time, even if she gets the nomination. Bill Bolling has long experience with solving problems, working with state leaders across the spectrum to make Virginia a better place to live. Wagner’s record is one of fiscal mismanagement, and advocacy of higher taxes. This will not play well in Virginia. Advantage: Bolling!

Do NOT misunderestimate her. Consider this fair warning.

“Do NOT misunderestimate her. Consider this fair warning.”

Arrogance is the only word that can describe VA Democrats…

A divisive Dem primary? I’m sure Team Bolling is ready for either of these Dem sacrificial lambs. It’s always fun to watch the nutroots carve each other ala Byrne/Connolly.

LG Bolling has taken the lead on the issues that matter most to the average person via his 100 Ideas program over the last four years. Virginians know Bill Bolling, and they trust him to put forward legislation that actually improves their quality of life.

    Lights out in 2009.
