Virginian-Pilot features Bearing Drift going to RNC convention

So, it’s not quite a full-blown feature (in fact, it barely qualifies as a good blog-post), but, darn it, the Virginian-Pilot ran a city brief today about us being credentialed for the GOP national convention. And, as you have grown to love about Bearing Drift, it’s always about us. 
A couple things that didn’t make it into the brief that I’d like to point out:
- Vivian Paige, also a local blogger, is going to the Democratic National Convention. So both parties will have local representation.
- Bearing Drift, while certainly conservative, went to the state Democratic and Republican conventions this year, and had a great time covering both. But with so many qualified Democratic blogs in the commonwealth, it didn’t make sense for us to apply for the D’s national convention. In other words, we wouldn’t have stood a chance at getting credentialed!
A request to all readers,
I have decided to help with the cost of JR’s trip to the convention. I am sending him $200. I ask everyone who reads this blog and enjoys the comments to consider helping him with the cost. JR has NO idea that I am writing this and he will probably scold me for doing this. I feel that this is a fantastic opportunity to help someone who gives so much of his time to inform the citizens.
