What is Bearing Drift?
Bearing Drift was established in 2004. The name comes from the relative motion of objects at sea. If there is no bearing drift, and the distance between you and the object is closing, there will be a collision; therefore, action must be taken. Most navigational rules say to avoid collision, turn to starboard -- the right!

Wow, something Obama and McCain sound like they agree on. Wouldn’t this require a draw-down of forces in Iraq? Or are the daily reports we’re hearing of the armed forces being stretched paper thin already greatly exaggerated?
So is McCain coming to the same conclusion as the inexperienced guy that didn’t even pay a visit to the region to discuss stuff with the commanders on the ground? Interesting…
What’s that about those who ignore history …
The USSR couldn’t contain the Afghans and stamp out the poppies and I doubt we can either. An uneasy stalemate of some sort is about all we can expect to achieve. With adequate aerial surveillance, air support, and limited temporary Special Forces insertions we might partially contain them. Let’s not repeat the USSR’s failed ground strategy.
