Democrats set record!

Congratulations to Democrats! They’ve set a new record! No Congress has ever polled in single digits, but the Democrats were up to the challenge! A heart-wrenching 9% of America thinks the Democrats are doing a good job in Congress. They beat the previous record low of 11% set by….themselves!

And a record high 52% say the Democratic Congress is doing a poor job. Way to go, Nancy! More on the polling here.

What’ll be fun is when there are more Dems in the Senate and House next spring…

What I find more interesting is that the polling is probably due to Americans desire to see the Congress go after the Administration aggressively, yet the Dems just have been too timid or respectful (depending on your perspective - I say timid). If they would start to turn up the heat, I think we’ll see the numbers go up.

Yeah, that’s it. People are bashing Democrats because they’re too much like Bush.

Gotcha! Bush’s approval ratings are ROCK STAR compared to Congress.

This is an embarassing approval rating. However, I think that the old rule of thumb is true that, while people may hate Congress, they generally like their own member of Congress.

That said, given the dismal view of Congress nationally, this does present an opportunity of sorts for John McCain. He can make the argument that a President Obama would have a compliant Congress — a legislative body that most Americans really don’t like.

There’s never been a better time to be a Republican congressman. Pelosi and Reid have run Congressional approval ratings even below what Tom Delay and Mark Foley were able to accomplish. Glenn Nye has no chance.

I disagree. I think Glen Nye has a 45% to 50% chance of unseating Congresswoman Thelma Drake. I feel this is due to the demographic shift in the 1st District (more Left leaning “minority” residents this year than during the last election) and due to the lack of enthusiasm many 1st District traditional GOP voters have for what now passes for what is called “The Republican Party”.

While many of the once “GOP “faithful” are luke warm to the Republican Party and towards Senator John McCain, the Democratic Party faithful seem to me to be very enthusiastic and energized – both for “taking Virginia back” and for Senator Barack Obama assuming his new residence in the White House.

Glenn Nye’s only chance is on the coattails of Barack Obama and Mark Warner.

There’s never been a better time to be a Republican congressman.

Really? Then why are 29 (or is it 30 yet) Republican congress-critters retiring, and only 6 Dems? And why of the 7 special congressional elections held this year so far, 6 were won by Dems (3 of which flipped R to D). Congressional approval ratings may be in the cellar, but thus far it hasn’t seemed to translate to any Republican victories.

It’s a pretty sweet time to be a Dem, folks dislike the Republican brand so much they hate Congress and they’re still electing Dems to replace Repubs as quickly as they retire!

I had to see how Ragnar would spin these numbers. Nobody’s buying it buddy.

People call Bush an idiot, but now with $4+ gas, we know who the idiots are. Bush wanted to drill for domestic oil 8 years ago. Dems now are starting to catch up with Bush’s “idiocy.”

Of course the real idiots are us the public who somehow believe Bush and the not Dems are responsible for today’s expensive gas. We don’t like how the Dems are running Congress, but we are probably going to elect a Democratic House and Senate.

Definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

    Wake up America!
