Bearing Drift credentialed for RNC Convention

Bearing Drift has been selected by the RNC to cover the convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul from Sep. 1-4.

According to the notification, the press credential

“allows access to the 200 Level of the Xcel Energy Center as well as access to the Media Center, Press Conference Room and Filing Center. This credential does not provide access to any broadcast position, camera stand or writing press stand, nor does it provide access to the delegate floor (emph. added).”

My understanding is that Democrats are allowing their state bloggers to sit with the delegation. So, while I am gratified to be credentialed, this bit of news is a downer.

Didn’t see the news today, but I did blog about Tigers Stadium leaving us a couple of days ago. Bummer.

Bearing Drift was established in 2004. The name comes from the relative motion of objects at sea. If there is no bearing drift, and the distance between you and the object is closing, there will be a collision; therefore, action must be taken.

Most navigation rules state that the best course of action with constant bearing and decreasing range is to alter one's course to starboard - the right!
