RPV Chairman Candidates - Question 4
|
|
Will you commit to serving a full term as Chairman?
John Hager
Yes, I absolutely will serve an entire four-year term as Chairman. I made that commitment and will stand by it. I consider the work that needs to be done at RPV something that cannot be done part time.
If we are going to completely right our ship, get our candidates elected, and grow our party, we need someone with the time and energy to devote to it.
I am not using the position as a stepping stone to some other office. My commitment is to the Republican Party and I will stay in this position for the full term.
Jeff Frederick
As I announced last week, my commitment to being Chairman is so strong that I announced I would not seek re-election to the House of Delegates if I am elected Chairman, so that I can have a dedicated focus on doing whatever it takes to turn things around at RPV.
The idea that someone would run for this seat just as a placeholder until someone else can take over from them after President Bush is out of office would continue the revolving door that Mr. Hager has so often mentioned. I am the only candidate in this race that can bring the long-term stability to RPV – not necessarily the stability of one long-term figurehead, but stability in vision, strategy, infrastructure, and a solid plan to start winning again.

Thanks for doing this. I’m not sure Frederick even answered this one and, if he did, I have no idea what his answer was.
If you read the post, then you’d know.
After reading all four replies from the two candidates, I still feel Jeff is the best suited to lead the RPV. It is my opinon that Hager is just not showing any zeal, passion, or innovation in leadership. Jeff has laid out his plan, forsaken a House of Delegates re-election campaign if elected, and has demonstrated a tenacity, vitality, and ingenuity that our party has been sorley lacking. As a delegate to the convention, I vote Jeff Frederick for Chairman.
