Because this is the attitude of those promoting them. “Sometimes I wonder why they have town hall meetings” - Calling citizen comments “mostly noise” - Criticizing citizens for speaking their own ideas since “No one referred to anything he said” - and saying that next time Tim Kaine comes to town, citizens should be prepared to listen to “his plan, so at least his time, if not the rest of the audience’s, will be better spent.”

Who would look into a tv camera and say that? Here’s a hint.

The “Listen and Learn Tour” must’ve meant for citizens to shut up and listen to government! Now I understand.
