Democrats taxing homosexuals
By | Thursday, May 15th, 2008 | Catch-All

Two Democratic talking points are about to collide. California’s Supreme Court ruled homosexuals can marry, while Democrats are campaigning to “repeal the Bush tax cuts.”

Dear friends, one of those Bush tax cuts was the elimination of the marriage penalty.

Either the Dems will suddenly embrace Bush’s tax cut, or Republicans might have an outreach opportunity.

About the author

Brian Kirwin

The right wants to jeer him. The left wants to censor him. Moderates usually want both. Brian Kirwin is a political consultant and public relations strategist in Virginia Beach with a lightning-rod flair. Brian also serves on the VB Arts & Humanities Commission and frequently appears on Hampton Roads theatrical stages, if only to prove that all actors aren’t liberals. Kirwin’s columns stir up debate and hit the political scene with no punches pulled.

This is even a stretch for you Brian. I guess there must not have been anything worthwhile to cover for a ridiculous post like this.

In other news, everyone is encouraged to GO TO FIRST COLONIAL HIGH SCHOOL TOMORROW FOR OUR ANNUAL SENIOR SILLIES…it is a fundraiser the whole family can atend for only 5 bucks!!

Actually, Brian has an excellent point. Back when I worked for Steve Forbes in ’96, we got this long ranting letter from a homosexual couple about how it was unfair that they couldn’t get married. We took a look at a list of their complaints and figured out that the flat tax actually would have addressed quite a few of them.

Nothing like a little funny to end a rough day, thanks BK! BTW, you’re behind the times. Republicans have been reaching out to the gay community for years, though usually in public restrooms. Perhaps they just need a better venue.

    That is so gay.
