I have two special needs children. I love the idea of having an advocate as VP. I do not think the mother has to stay home. What can a mother do that a father cannot? I would be out there working hard to change the laws in favor of my children if I had the opportunity. Palin has that opportunity. I applaud her!

I would never vote for this Republican ticket. She is throwing family values out the window by choosing to join this ticket. John McCain is a womanizer and a cheater. She will not be able to care fully for her special needs child. Shame on you.

Congratulations on the birth of your precious son. As you cherish him and admire him for the person he is and not what he could be. I respect your morals and values. I have three children. All three have had special needs. We have been able to get them into wonderful schools and have also spent a SMALL FORTUNE on special therapies. TheY are all thriving and believe it or not they are all on the honor roll at school. God hands us challenges but it is our job in life to carry on. Love unconditionally and with all that you have inside. My children are the reason I wake up in the morning and the reason I breath. What a gift they have all been. I have learned lessons through their struggles and many successes. I applaud you and envy you on your journey of love.GOD BLESS YOU.

I have heard that something like 80% of baby’s with Downs Syndrome are aborted. I too have a relative with Downs — she was born before Roe and she is much loved in our extended family.
