Jindal on Leno
By Norman Leahy | Wednesday, April 30th, 2008 | Catch-AllBobby Jindal takes the Leno stage by storm (and in the process, makes Helen Hunt more uncomfortable than she’s been since her last close-up with Paul Reiser).
Jindal ought to be the template for any GOP gubernatorial candidate. Or any GOP candidate, period. To find out why, take a look:

I’m impressed. I’m not sure of his politics, but if he was elected as Governor in Louisiania (acceptance of corruption by Louisianians withstanding) he might not be that bad.
One thing for certain is that he is sharp as a tack. John McCain could do lots worse (lots, lots worse) then selecting Bobby Jindal as a running mate.
I’ve yet to see a bad interview with Jindal. his jokes may fall flat every now and then, but when he gets serious he’s inspirational. If he manages to really make a dent in the cesspool that was lousianna politics and keep his nose clean, he’ll really be the golden boy of the right. Shame that i seem to disagree with him on almost every issue.
Hey, if Bobby Jindal managed to clean up Louisiana politics, he might be worthy of a halo.

This was an excellent post by another BD contributor — Norm Leahy.
Jindal gets Republicans energized about being Republicans. He is definitely our “hope”.
Actually, i’d broaden your statement a bit, Jim – he has the ability to get *people* energized about being *Americans*. Different style, but much of the same result as Obama, which is what makes him a potent politician. People who can appeal across party lines, even when thier politics themselves may not.
True, Jeremy. But you have to admit, Obama jazzes up the idealistic Dems moreso than Republicans and Jindal will motivate idealist Republicans far more than Democrats.
They do both appeal across the aisle, but they certainly have their “true believers” ready to move heaven and earth for them from their home-turf.
