Glad to Be On Board

[GWB in crowd]It’s an honor to be invited to blog here at Bearing Drift, a site which has been a must-read for me for some time. I’m an observer more than an analyst, so I will be posting more photographs than analysis. So to kick things off, here is the President, from 2005, shaking hands in the crowd at Eltham. To the far right, at top, is Eric Draper, now the White House Photo Director. This photo looks grainy because it’s a scanned film image. (Fujifilm Pro400H, ISO 400).

President Bush is routinely, reflexively referred to in the press as unpopular. See this New York Times article: “unpopular” twice and “unpopularity” thrown in twice for good measure, in case you readers don’t understand just how VERY UNPOPULAR this President is. (And, the NYT would like you to note, John McCain is going to be just like him).

So, thank you to the group at Bearing Drift, for the invitation! I’ll be back, and I’ll have photos.

He’s only unpopular with the vast majority of Americans…
