Former BD contributor Brown new Norfolk GOP chair
By JR Hoeft | Sunday, April 20th, 2008 | Catch-AllFormer Bearing Drift contributor Pam Brown was elected yesterday as chairman of the Norfolk Republican Party in a close race with current party chair David Nimmer.
In an event that drew all three GOP U.S. Senate candidates, Rep. Thelma Drake, and Attorney General Bob McDonnell, Brown garnered 54% of the vote to defeat Nimmer.
Brown was nominated by Rep. Drake’s spouse, Ted Drake.
One of Brown’s campaign promises is to: “Develop a new interactive website that includes a Blog.” Hmmm….interesting.
Brown also has other party-building strategies that she intends to implement, including a rather obvious, but often under-utilized one: contacting Republicans who voted in the 2008 primary.
