School Board Member becomes City Auditor
By Brian Kirwin | Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 | Catch-AllLyndon Remias, member of the Virginia Beach School Board, has apparently earned the job of the city’s first Council-appointed City Auditor. Past auditors were the selection of the City Manager. Lyndon will step down from the School Board, after running twice and winning on the second try. It’s bittersweet, since Lyndon is a positive, community-oriented, honest public servant who was featured on the Bearing Drift podcast, the only School Board member to do so.
Council made a superb choice, but I know leaving the school board, and basically the political realm, is a difficult thing for Lyndon to do. He truly wants to be helpful, do a good job, and bring people together. He’s a heck of a leader. The School Board will now likely appoint someone to Lyndon’s seat until the next election. Congrats, Lyndon.

Too bad Lyndon has to step down from something he truely loved to do. I have know Lyndon professionally for 15+ years and remember when he first talked about his kids going to school in Virginia Beach. How he was proud to proclaim the beach schools the best in the region. He always wanted to help keep them the best. So what did he do he ran for the school board….and won a seat. His dedication, honesty and desire to make a positive change were short lived for the school system. However, as city auditor he will be able to help guide the city for decades to come. The council has made a fine choice and the city is in good hands. Congrats go out to Lyndon
