I’ll never forget how Thelma Drake shocked everyone when she made a very stupid statement at a public gathering. According to Thelma, all she needs to know about an aircraft carrier is that it is big…..The faces of the navy officers when she made that statement was priceless.

Thelma Drake is no great thinker that’s for sure. She continues to be a large rubber stamp for Bush/Cheney. She continues to vote against holding anyone in the Bush administration accountable for anything.

It should surprise no one that Drake refuses to change course. She plans to vote yes to granting the telecommunications corporation immunity so they cannot be taken before an American court of law.

Thelma Drake needs to be ousted from Congress asap.

I don’t know, J.R… a friend who is involved with the Club for Growth told me that there is talk about asking Gary Byler to get into the race. It would make sense on their part, he’s always been a stalwart fiscal conservative, which (as great as I think she is) isn’t exactly Thelma’s strongest point. That being said, I hope it’s not true, it’d be best if we could all unite behind Thelma.

Congress is a lot more than one issue, LD.

Personally, I find Thelma Drake’s personal story, the one told in this podcast and article, very compelling. She certainly is familiar with the community and has served this community far more than Nye.

As she stated, her work in Armed Services, Healthcare reform, and Illegal Immigration are her primary issues. Tax reform did not seem to be high on her list. And, personally, I don’t think it stands a chance of even being debated.

Why I am against Thelma Drake:

I have a few reasons, but here is about my favorite…

Thelma Drake is in favor of the Fair Tax. Thelma Drake wants to increase my taxes by about $5,000 a year in order to give a tax cut to the likes of Paris Hilton. (For the “average American” family the increase would not be as great, but still at least a couple thousand)

I might be willing to pay an extra 5 grand if it went towards balancing the budget, however under the Fair Tax all the extra money I paid would go towards reducing taxes for the wealthy.

I’m intending to vote for Glenn Nye because he is not Thelma Drake. That’s all the reason I need.
