There’s a rat in my coke!
By | Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 | Catch-All

Del. Jeff Frederick stopped by Virginia Beach this morning to campaign for state party chair. In his remarks, he compared the Republican “brand” to Coca-Cola in the sense that there should be consistency of message in the “product”. He said that no matter where you go in the world, coke is the same, and you can take comfort in that consistency. However, he continued, your perception of coke can be dramatically altered if there is a “rat” in the bottle.

He claims that the conservative message continues to be diluted by Democratic and inconsistent messages, which ruins Republican credibility with voters.

Chuck Smith, party chair in Virginia Beach, was not exactly thrilled with Frederick’s remark.

I agree with his words. The GOP has been diluted, btu what can you do about it… He got enough delegates to win the Nom. Oh well… Maybe the GOP with get their head out of their *** for the next election… Dount it though since there seems to be no shortage of Republicans who are willing to bend their beliefs and hold their nose simply for the sake of “winning”.

Yet another election we are told to vote for a sub par Republican because (cue scarry music) he is better than the Liberal running against him).

Is is like chooosing the smell of a fart versus an actual pile of shit… Sure, one may smell worse, but they both still stink.

    And thus is Election ’08

Ha! What a cliff hanger, JR! “Chuck Smith, party chair in Virginia Beach, was not exactly thrilled with Frederick’s remark.” So what happened after that???

Frederick’s words are, almost word-for-word, the same as Grover Norquist’s when discussing the GOP and it’s brand.

Grover even uses the rat example.

Funny. Frederick’s middle name wouldn’t be “Biden” by chance, would it?

    Bad analogy.

While the Coke trade mark is universal, Coca-Cola is actually reformulated to match the taste of the home country.

Anyone who has drunk that battery acid that passes for Coke over in Japan can attest to the local formulation of the product.

Here’s an idea: Instead of trying to better market a lousy product, let’s have a better product. Instead of the Neocon version of the GOP, let’s get back to being the Party of LESS GOVERNMENT and MORE FREEDOM. Let’s be the Party that returns our government back to within its Constitutional limits. Now, that, is a product that would out sell Coke and Pepsi put together.

Frederick will NOT win the election as RPV chair. He will get blown out by a very large margin in the end. He has already been pushing outright deceptive numbers to his supporters in the same fashion as Gilmore. This tactic is used by losing campaigns or campaigns with no momentum. Just remember all the district chairs have strongly supported Hager. Outside his delegate district no one outside of party insiders has ever even heard of the guy or are hearing about him for the first time. His cocky and some say abrasive attitude and personality turn just as many people off to him as those who are attracted to him. Just ask him why he skipped one of the most important votes on HB 3202 and all of a sudden showed right back up after the vote and claimed he voted against it?

I don’t really don’t think we need another big talker with no experience running a large organization taking the reigns of our state party.

For all Jeff’s talk he’s not put any money or resources behind anyone but himself. Look at his name on VPAP. He’s doing this for money and power. He should worry about keeping his seat and not earning a serious primary challenger. People should go look at his business GSX Strategies. Looks to me he would be in serious conflict of interest teritory if he were to somehow become chairman.

We succeed only as we identify in life, or in war, or in anything else, a single overriding objective, and make all other considerations bend to that one objective.
