Drake to force Dems to vote on their own bill

Democrats may campaign about illegal immigration, but it’s like tax cuts, smaller government and strong defense - they really don’t like to actually do anything about it.

Congresswoman Thelma Drake wants the Congress to vote on a Democrat bill that both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are campaigning in favor of, and the Democrats are saying “NO”

A bill about illegal immigration is stuck in the House, and it’s not even a Republican bill. It’s Democrat Heath Shuler’s bill that does two things: adds 8,000 border patrol agents and expands a database so employers can check workers. And House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is stopping the bill.

Drake needs 218 votes to force it to the floor for a vote. She has 181 so far (Daily Press).

Here’s the fun! Both Democrats running for President “say” they support what this bill would actually do.

Hillary : “Hillary strongly believes we need to do more to know who is in our country by securing our borders and ensuring that employers comply with the law against hiring and exploiting undocumented workers.”

Obama : “He supports additional personnel, infrastructure and technology on the border and at our ports of entry…Obama will remove incentives to enter the country illegally by cracking down on employers who hire undocumented immigrants.”

That Drake has to fight so hard for Democrats to vote on their own member’s bill that both of their Presidential candidates are campaigning on tells you how far from the mainstream the House Democrat Leadership have become.
